As an avid movie-goer I thought it would be a good idea to take this as an opportunity to share with those whom I love, my thoughts on whats going on at the cineplex...

(500) Days of Summer: A refreshing romantic comedy that admits upfront it's not a love story. It has a great cast and an even better soundtrack; and it's really funny. It's an independent movie, so there is a lot of visually cool stuff that you don't typically see in films today. WARNING: It does contain some rom-com cliches in that there is some crude sex jokes/scenarios.

The Time Traveler's Wife: Okay me and Erica walked out of this movie 45 min through, because it sucked. It was melodramatic and didn't make no sense. I argee with Peter Travers of Rolling Stone when he said, "I'd watch the vibrant Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana in anything, but The Time Traveler's Wife is pushing it." In short, I wished I could time travel during this movie.

Man on Wire: This movie is out on DVD, so go rent it! It's a unique documentary on a guy who walked on wire in between the two world trade centers. He and a team of others accomplished this illegaly. The footage is exhilirating and if you stick it out it's worth it. You'll have to skip some "weird" scene lol.

UP: The latest from Disney/Pixar is terriffic! And that's an understatement, it's really funny and heartwarming. Bishop took the priests to go see it for my bday this past weekend. Oh yeah and Becky cried four times during it, so that should be reason enough to go see it.

17 Again!

Well my birthday snuck up on me, quite literally! On a late-night run to Safeway on the eve of my birthday, as I was entering the store, a blanket was thrust on me from behind and I was thrown into the back of a range rover. Nick Anderson and Emily Miller kidnapped me and took me to this dessert house kinda by OMSI, called RIMSKY'S. It was lots of fun.

And the next morning (my bday) I went to work and my car had been window-chalked. On the back it said "HONK I"M 17!". The best part is Erica got to drive it around all day. I had a fun day complete with birthday calls and wall posts on facebook lol. Thank-you everyone for the gifts :) That night we had a cars-themed fiesta at the Pickups :)

Life in O-Town

Well... this weekend I happened to do something slightly abnormal for me. I jumped out of a perfectly good plane and free fell at about 120mph at 13,000ft in the air while strapped indecently close to a man wearing a parachute. :) Yeah. It was awesome. I would do it every day if I could. So I'm putting some pics and a video up of that.

Also, I recently finished redoing my bathroom upstairs. I now actually enjoy being in that room! (Although hopefully not too much.... lol) There are still a couple finishing touches to go, but I thought I'd put up pics since it's basically done.

Also, my roommate downstairs swears she hears a mouse in the wall, so I have the pest control people coming tomorrow to fumigate that little sucker (or phantom... whatever the case may be). That's pretty much it for now... I will be heading to visit Joey & Laura w/Erica this coming weekend and can't wait!

Besides that it's just work, work, more work and PLAY. I really don't want winter to come... EVER again. P.S. this is my first blog post EVER.

Landon

Hi there family. Becky told me I had to post something or I was sleeping outside. Boy, where do I go from here? We're getting a house in Lehi. It will be big for us. We will have a large crawlspace for the in laws. I will post more details after the whole deal closes.

The job is going well. I am a data engineer on a business intelligence team for the LDS church.. This basically means I'm a nerd. I will describe my job in a future posting.

Oh what else? Debbie is coming to visit us this week. It will be a nonstop party! We bought a little Ford Ranger but I need to fix a body mount or two.

Enough of this, here is a neat picture.

One time I smashed my fingernail off doing construction.

They say you can never go back but...

1982 and 2008 at about the exact same spot on the Duomo in Florence. The years have been tough on me!

1982 and 2008 at about the exact same spot in Venice!
I don't look like it but I am happier now that I have Amy to share everything with!

Real Life In Huntington

Mom's back to school and it's hard! Dad is good at helping me with my homework and listening to me read him the Declaration of Independence!

I am putting this family picture on all of my class notebooks to remember each of you AND to keep 60 year-old Hippy Men from hitting on me! (True story!)

I enjoy my new calling in Young Women's. I work with the Mia Maids. (Above is my favorite one!)
In my spare time, I enjoy attending Adrienne's soccer games!

My favorite weekly event is my date with Dad!

This is our little black squirrel friend.
Many evenings, Dad and I are found on this porch swing; talking and eating ice cream of course!

Whirlwind Summer 2009

It was hard leaving Portland, but it was so great to have everybody together if only for one day all together at Collette's Crib!

One of the highlights was attending the SLC Temple with Becky and Landon!

Nauvoo was amazing. it was wonderful to share such a sacred experience with Joseph, Laura and Adrienne!

Then it was on to NY to visit the Beck's! We enjoyed boating with Aunt Adrienne! Joey and Adrienne enjoyed a week at EFY in VA with Alex and Brittany!

We all enjoyed the Hill Cumorah Pageant with Alex!

You Gotta Love D.I!

Hey everyone,
I just had to show you all this, I am so proud! Now I don't have pics of last time, but last weekend Lando and I went to D.I because he needed business casual clothes for the new offices he works at (instead of suits like the last one).  He got like 20 shirts and 5 pairs of pants for $110, and they were all nice clothes, it was awesome! Well, yesterday, I decided to look at D.I for some clothes of my own and got 40 things for $141.00! That included 4 pairs of shoes, hoodies, jackets, a lightweight coat, t-shirts, blouses, skirts, and even 2 swimsuits<-don't knock it; I will wash them!!!  Plus, I found $15.00 in this coat I bought; so I made money on that item! Anyway, check it out, I put a pic of all of them together and then a couple of my favorites.  Provo D.I has got a pretty awesome selection.  Erica, the Yale sweater is for you :-)  Thanks Mom and Dad for teaching me to look at D.I and Goodwill first! Now I'm rollin' on dubs!

P-town/Hawaii Trip BEGINS!!

\

Well if we're gonna do this whole blog thing, I figured I'd jump in and let ya all know how my amazing adventure has started off with my Portland/Hawaii trip! I'm staying with Joey and the Pickups right now before I hit Hawaii, and I am SOO glad he is staying with them:)

The Pickups really know how to make you feel right at home! The first night I was here we were eating dinner, and I was so comfortable I just burped without even thinking about it... sorry mom! But they're so cool, and Zane and Nora are about the cutest kids EVER. They took me on a hike to Silver Falls, and we had FHE together tonight- Holly taught us about how Heavenly Father made the Earth for us to enjoy, and Zane made a lot of spiritual comments about the treats he knew were coming at the end of the lesson:) They taught Joe how to play cards, hahahaha--- maybe they shouldn't have!! At one point he took the cards from me when I was dealing, and yelled "You're messing with destiny!!!" So sisters, I'd stick to UNO when Joey asks you if you wanna play a game.

Besides hanging with the Pickups, me and Joe went to the rose gardens and had a picnic, went to the temple after taking a wrong turn from there, took a bike ride to Mount Tabor, and had the opportunity to get some good eats at some of the family favorites of fine dining- Aunt Celeste and Gramma treated us to sandwiches and pie at Truffles one night, and me and Joe just had a buffet lunch today with the Batemans who treated us at Sweet Tomatoes. I also was able to see a couple friends from high school- Marg Zeller picked me up from the airport, Brenda Olmos, me, and Joe went to Hawthorne district today, and I went to Old Chicago with some of the girls I used to hang with in high school.

My favorite day was this Sunday- I saw the home ward and took about 30 min just getting through the hallway to class (really i completely skipped sunday school... oops! Katherine Mickelson is just so hard to leave!) (again sorry mom). Anywho, that was AWESOME. A couple changes in the ward- Greg Fort isn't in the bishopric anymore, and is now Scout master and 2nd counselor in the YM. Kevin is now the Elders Quorum pres, and Chuck Wells is the new second counselor in the bishopric. And even bigger news in the ward- April Fort had a beautiful baby boy!!!! We went and saw them after church that day, and he is gorgeous. They haven't named him yet, Greg calls him the "no-name baby".. ahaha...

Besides all that, I went to Stacia's wedding- which was the original reason for the whole trip to Stumptown, and it was SO beautiful. Stacia is one of my most favorite people, and I'm really gonna miss being roommates with her. I introduced her to Cole though, so I know she's in good hands:) I saw them come out of the temple, and went to their reception the following day with Joey. It was so sweet to watch her dance with her dad, and then with Cole. I just know they are going to be so happy together!

Well, I guess I should go do my online check-in with the airport for Hawaii tomorrow (be impressed Dad). I can't wait to see Adrian! I send my love to all the fam- Adge watch for a postcard in the mail I miss you INSANELY.

Hope this whole blog thing works! Love, Erica

The Peacock Family Blog

Hey everyone! Becky here. Mom wanted to get us more inter-connected via the internet (she's always so tech savvy!) so that we could let everyone know what's going on in our lives, as we are all very geographically spread out right now. So the solution I thought of was a blog. If it doesn't work, then we'll abandon the idea, but I'd figure we'd try it out. On this blog, we can post whatever we want on it (including pics and letters/entries), and we can do it all at our own leisure. So have fun, be appropriate (no nudity Adge!), and talk to you all later. Love & miss you guys.
